The new Life in Wartime podcast (and other Third Space stuff I have done this week)

Here’s a selection of the latest material on the Third Space website.

First up, a new podcast hosted on the Eternity Podcast site, called Life in Wartime, featuring me with my colleague from Third Space, David Robertson.  In this introductory episode we explore the similarities (and differences0 between our time in COVID-19 and the start of WWII.  And we look at CS Lewis’s famous BBC wartime broadcasts to see what we can learn for today’s situation. You can find the podcast here. And don’t forget to sign up for it.

My latest blog post on Third Space is about the growing reality that in the current lockdown many of the “have to” moments in our lives that stress us out have drained away.  Were they as “have to” as we initially thought?  What might happen to them afterwards?  What if I like this more restful suburb I suddenly find myself living in? Do I want to go back to the old normal?  Is there a quality of rest available to me when all of the “have to” stuff ramps back up again?

You can find that blogpost here.

And of course there is today’s episode of The Panic Room, where David and I ask the question “Should we be sending our kids back to school yet? In fact what’s education for?”

There is no guarantee that Jesus will return in our desired timeframe. Yet we have no reason to be anxious, because even if the timeframe is not guaranteed, the outcome is! We don’t have to waste energy being anxious; we can put it to better use.
