A Round-Up of My Week And Some Things You Can Sign Up To
Just doing a weekly round-up of some of the stuff I have done this week that isn’t on the blog.
YouTube Ministry Thoughts
I’ve started a YouTube channel for ministry reflections (still a work in progress, but hey, why don’t you subscribe – I’d love to have you join with me in this project). It’s going to be five minutes (no more and generally not less) of where we might go right in ministry, where we might go wrong, and how to keep the gospel at your ministry centre.
As I said, still got some final renovating to do (just paint and polish really), so bear with me! You can sign up https://www.youtube.com/@StephenMcAlpineMinistries.
Check out the first one:
Premier Christianity Article
Premier Christianity in the UK repackaged my article about Giles Coren, the Jewish writer and columnist for The Times, who has recently turned to the church for meaning and answers.
You can find that article here.
And in a bonus, Giles has linked the full article that I quote from (it’s no longer behind The Times‘ paywall). It’s worth a read. In fact all of his stuff generally is.
Instagram Reels
I’m doing short reels on Instagram a couple of times per week. They’re usually two to three minutes max, looking at the overall point of a Bible passage. I’ve been doing them since I lived in New Zealand last year (usually in scarf, coat and beanie):
But this summer in Sydney is a humidity/heat fest, so it’s tee-shirts, caps and sunnies.
If you want to check these out (currently doing a series on Acts, but sometimes I drop ones like this when a thought comes to my mind:

Life To The Full
I’m enjoying writing and podcasting for Life To The Full, a Christian mental health and wellness co-op that has just started in Sydney. Theologically orthodox, and with experienced clinicians, Life To The Full offers mental health help that is committed to the biblical vision of human flourishing. Here’s my latest piece for them.
Substack Subscription
And last, but not least, the “coffee per month” Substack Subscription option, which is where I will be dropping long form essays each week for paid subscribers. Writing in the cultural and theological space is an increasingly important part of my ministry, and I’d love you to partner with me to enable me to lean into writing more over the coming years:
If you want to sign up, you can do that here.

There is no guarantee that Jesus will return in our desired timeframe. Yet we have no reason to be anxious, because even if the timeframe is not guaranteed, the outcome is! We don’t have to waste energy being anxious; we can put it to better use.
